Signing the Agreement concerning Service-Learning with AIU

On July 8, Service-Learning Center of É«¿Ø´«Ã½ signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Akita International University (AIU) for the implementation of service-learning (SL) activities for students. The purpose of this MOU is for É«¿Ø´«Ã½ and AIU students to conduct a 30-day joint SL program in Mitaka City, Tokyo and Gojome Town, Akita.

É«¿Ø´«Ã½ started a partnership with Dochavengers (Gojome Town, Akita) in 2020. In March 2020, four É«¿Ø´«Ã½ students engaged in SL activities related to town revitalization in Gojome Town. Then, two universities have signed a memorandum of understanding and will begin a joint SL program in March 2022.

 

Joint SL Program

ActivitiesAIU and É«¿Ø´«Ã½ students will conduct service activities together with the main theme of "community development".

Through this joint SL program, we hope that students from two international universities will be able to move back and forth between local and global perspectives.
