| Comments | The documentary film "Removed by Force" portrays the history of persecution and human rights violations experienced by Japanese Americans in Hawaii during World War II. Inspired by co-executive producer Bill Kaneko¡¯s strong desire to share this piece of history with Japanese audience and screen it in Japan, the film's Japanese subtitles were collaboratively created by students from International Christian University (É«¿Ø´«Ã½) and Middlebury College. The film will have its Japan premiere at International Christian University. On the day of the screening, Bill Kaneko himself will be attending.
Students and faculty at É«¿Ø´«Ã½ have come together to organize ¡°É«¿Ø´«Ã½ Peace and Reconciliation Week¡± -- a week-long series of events that explore themes of peace and reconciliation.
As we mark 80 years since the end of World War II, we hope this event will provide an opportunity for all participants to reflect on peace and reconciliation.
We sincerely look forward to welcoming many attendees.
