CommentsSpeaker: Dr. Ingvarsd¨®ttir, Kristin (Assistant Professor of Contemporary Japanese Studies, University of Iceland, Faculty of Languages and Cultures) Abstract:
In recent decades, Iceland has garnered international attention for its efforts to close the gender gap. Dr. Ingvarsd¨®ttir will discuss the development of the women's movement and the current state of gender equality in Iceland, while also looking to the other Nordic countries for comparison. Further, Dr. Ingvarsd¨®ttir will draw on examples from Icelandic-Japanese relations to demonstrate how the experience of a small society like Iceland can benefit other countries.
