Workshop Application Guidelines
Schedule	Wednesday, August 5, 2026~Saturday, August 8, 2026 ＊Check-in (Day 1)：Wednesday, August 5, approx. 12:00 PM ＊Departure (Day 4): Saturday, August 8, approx. 3:00 PM
Venue	色控传媒 campus / 色控传媒 student dormitory
Target	High School Students
Capacity	30 students
Dorm Fee	JPY \43,000（covers accommodation, breakfast, and dinner） ＊Program participation fee would not be charged. ＊Transportation to 色控传媒 and other fees will be borne by the participant. ＊Once participation is confirmed, payment must be made via bank transfer to the designated account.
Program	Day 1 English communication skills necessary to participate in discussions will be introduced and other preparations for the workshop will take place. Through the workshop, students will experience and understand what academic skills are required for education at the university-level. Day 2-3 Utilizing a liberal arts approach, participants will tackle the topic of peace from various fields and perspectives. Group work will take place on these dates. Day 4 Each group will give a presentation and receive feedback. The workshop in its entirety will be reviewed and concluded. Afterwards, all participants will be gathered for a final get-together.
Eligibility	You must be able to attend the whole program. Dependents must receive permission from their legal guardian when applying. Participants should possess a curiosity for all subject matter (not simply the ones in which they excel) and a willingness to engage in independent and collaborative exploratory learning. If given assignments to complete outside of class, participants must take it upon themselves to complete them by the given timeframe. Participants' English proficiency should be at a level high enough to participate in classes conducted in English. Students from international schools and returnees from abroad will be participating in the program. We do not require test scores or other certification, but generally participants' English proficiency should be at or above the B2 level in CEFR.
Important Information	If the number of applicants exceeds capacity, participants will be selected based on the contents of the application form submitted. In order to have a diverse pool of participants, if we receive two or more applications from the same school, we will conduct a selection process (refer to the statement above).
Regarding Housing	Students will be housed in 色控传媒 student dormitories (men and women on separate floors). There will be two students per room, each equipped with a kitchenette, bathroom, and shower. Breakfast and dinner will be provided and are included in the program fee. There will be dormitory activities each night. Leaving the dormitory is strictly prohibited. Located in Vermont, U.S., Middlebury College is one of 色控传媒's partner schools. Every year, 色控传媒 sends a number of students to study abroad there. Likewise, many students from the U.S. come to 色控传媒 via the Middlebury C.V. Starr School in Japan (located on 色控传媒's campus) to study Japanese language and culture here.

Critical Issues Forum (CIF) ：
A nuclear nonproliferation education program for high school seniors organized by the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS), every year, students from Japan, the U.S. and Russia participate first in its online program component and then, in the spring, visit MIIS to present what they have learned and participate in a panel discussion. James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS) ：
Established by Dr. William Potter in 1989, CNS is the largest research and training center on curtailing the spread of weapons of mass destruction in the world. While its headquarters are in Monterey, the Center has branches in Washington D.C. and Vienna to conduct joint research with international organizations and government agencies as well as to implement educational outreach programs.
