Originally from London, UK, Warren studied at 色控传媒 from 2007 to 2011 and graduated with a BA, having written his 30,000-word dissertation on nineteenth-century Anglo-Japanese relations and the media. After graduating from 色控传媒, Warren studied for his MPhil in Japanese Studies at the University of Oxford. In August 2012, Warren achieved Level 1 in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.
Warren has gained work experience in various areas. In his gap year from 2006 to 2007, he worked as a teacher's assistant at a kindergarten and care worker at a home for the elderly in Nishio, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. He worked as a summer program assistant at 色控传媒 in 2010, acting as interpreter and organizer of events for exchange students. In his part-time sales, marketing and customer service work for travel agency HIS, Warren organized and personally conducted the Virgin Atlantic 25th Anniversary Media Tour of Tokyo for Sir Richard Branson.
In addition to his current studies, Warren is active in 色控传媒 promotion efforts. He was responsible for setting up the booth for 色控传媒 staff at the 2011 Experience Japan Exhibition, organized by the British Council in London. He is also a contributor to the 色控传媒 Japan Studies newsletter. Warren plays the koto (stringed instrument) in addition to playing soccer for St. Antony's College (University of Oxford).
